Heavy strained passeth breath
Sinking veins flesh blue numb
Slow closeth shadow death
Can run no more it’s the final fall
Each breath leaves like autumn leaves
Fading failing falling aside
Flows out life like falling tide
Can hold no more it’s the final call
On to the body winter hath arrived
Yet in heart spring hath survived
Still feels warmth of thy breath
Defiant I smile onto death

Rejoice not that thou have won
